They founded a society there untouched by Christianity, and the result is fascinating. Sep 02, Julie rated it did not like it Shelves: I’m ex I had read Kate Forsyth’s novels a while ago. Other books in the series. Wiyches I had to read through 50 pages of traveling and playing around.
Yet deep in the mountains, in the shadow of Dragonclaw, a young girl is being tutored in the old ways.
Some of the dialogue is also bit strained but I look forward to book two to see if the author has refined that. Alone and far from All magical creatures of Eileanan are persecuted by decree of Maya the Ensorcellor.
Witches have gone into eipeanan, but a resistance exists, building their forces in secret. I’ll definitely be reading the rest of the series–but just a bit more carefully, as I do with Anne Bishop.
She writes short stories and has been working on a novel. It’s such a dull start and I HATE when spelling is forfeited to convey an accent; particularly here because I can’t understand an Irish accent at the best of times. And it’s only that one scene.
